The steepest and most challenging descent on Mount Titlis, freshly groomed—ready for a very special run. What began like a normal day of skiing turned into a memorable moment: the Rotegg slope was officially renamed to «Marco Odermatt Slope Rotegg».
«Wild, demanding, sometimes unpredictable – not for everyone.» That’s how the Rotegg descent is often described. And that’s exactly why it suits Marco Odermatt so perfectly. On the slope, he impresses with power and technique – and as a person, he stands out with authenticity and charm.
In a heartfelt speech, Norbert Patt, CEO of Titlis Bergbahnen, thanked the exceptional athlete:
“With your friendly and down-to-earth nature, you carry the Titlis brand out into the world. You are the best ambassador one could wish for – not just for us, but for the entire region.”
As a true Nidwalden native, Marco tackles even the cantonal border on the Rotstöckli – between Nidwalden and Obwalden – with a playful wink and sporting spirit.
Until then, only one slope on Mount Titlis had been named after a ski legend: the «Erika» slope, in honor of Erika Hess. But with the new nameplate on the Rotegg, ski history was made – in wide, sweeping turns.
Because Marco didn’t miss the chance to personally inaugurate the freshly named slope together with his father Walti – a memorable sporting experience for the whole family.
