Under the motto "Military Champions for Peace" Switzerland will host the 5th CISM Winter Military World Games from March 23 to 30, 2025. While Lucerne will serve as the host city at the heart of the games, the competitions will take place at renowned locations such as Engelberg, Andermatt, Goms, Emmen, and Wädenswil. The sporting slopes and high snow reliability make the Engelberg-Titlis region the ideal venue for the alpine competitions at the Winter Military World Games.
More than 1,400 participants from nearly 44 nations are expected to take part, including Swiss athletes benefiting from the Swiss Army’s elite sports program. However, the games are about more than just top athletic performances – they promote intercultural exchange and friendship among nations, fully embracing the CISM motto: "Friendship through Sport."

Both the opening and closing ceremonies, as well as all competitions, are open to the public and free of charge. The goal is to break down barriers and bring people closer to the world of military sports. However, please note that a regular mountain railway ticket is required for the use of the cable cars in Engelberg, as this is not covered by the free access to the competitions.
The 5th Winter Military World Games stand for international friendship, hope, and solidarity – a powerful statement in a world marked by conflicts.
