Iconic construction site at TITLIS
With the opening of the TITLIS Tower, the first major milestone of the TITLIS project has been reached. At over 3,000 meters above sea level, a new architectural landmark has taken shape, designed by the renowned architecture firm Herzog & de Meuron. Set amid snow, rock, and glacier, the TITLIS Tower opens up new perspectives on the mountain world and marks a new chapter in alpine architecture.
At the same time, the next important phase of the project is beginning: the transformation of the existing mountain station into the new TITLIS Peak Station, scheduled to open in 2029. This means the TITLIS project remains one of Europe’s highest-altitude mountain construction sites and a milestone of modern architecture under some of the most demanding conditions.
Good to know: During the construction period, temporary changes to visitor routes may still occur. At times, there may also be construction noise, and rock material from the works may be visible on the snow. Temporary facilities will also remain in place near the Berghotel Trübsee as part of the project. All attractions remain open as usual, and the panorama is as breathtaking as ever.
